Edge explores the ambiguity and violence of the boundary that exists between the self and the other. Using the motif of a razor, it highlights the border between the inside (self) and the outside (other) while also suggesting the possibility of their unity as a single entity. The words engraved on each razor—“LOVE,” “SEX,” and “DEATH”—symbolize spiritual, physical, and existential self-transcendence.
